Community WatchDogs & C.A.T
Community WatchDogs was formed as a way to get residents interested in local government educated in how the local workings can affect their life. Each WatchDog member attends a monthly meeting (County Commissioners, City Council, school board, etc.), then reports back to the group with the highlights of the meeting. Civil Activist Teams then organize issue-focused teams that respond to Watchdog findings.
Hosted by Community Civil Activist, Community Watchdogs & Civil Activist Teams (C.A.T.) is a community-based civic engagement and accountability program designed to strengthen local democracy by equipping residents with the knowledge, tools, and structure to meaningfully participate in local government decision-making.
The program trains everyday residents including youth and directly impacted community members to observe, document, and respond to local government actions that affect their neighborhoods.
